Help the Kids from Uganda - Tuesday, August 25, 2009

Brian is a 16 year old boy abandoned by his father. A Kiwanian travel agent estimates $2500 per each child for travel expenses to Iowa. Iowa’s Scattergood Friends School has generously offered scholarships to allow Brian to attend for $2365 per child instead of the normal $20,000 per year. Since it is a boarding school, the tuition includes room and board. Right now Brian has practically nothing. You can help. View a list of things Brain will need for his stay at Scattergood.

The Dictionary Project - Sunday, August 23, 2009

The Dictionary Project is the name of an organization formed in South Carolina.  Their goal was to encourage literacy at the third grade level, and they created these dictionaries designed specifically for third graders.
